| Chaska is the first golf course in the state of Wisconsin to become "green" certified through The Travel Green Wisconsin Program several years ago. In keeping with our strong belief of using what we have, having what we need and leaving few carbon footprints; we are making more "green changes" in 2010.
All yardage markers, hazard markers, out of bounds stakes and tee blocks are being replaced. In addition, the driving range yellow ropes are a thing of the past as new dividers will replace them. Working with the Kirby company, a Wisconsin based organization, we are in the process of purchasing the newest items available made of recycled plastic. Our flagsticks and flags are being replaced with red sticks and red, white and blue flags. A red flag pin position indicates the hole placement is forward, a white flag indicates middle postion and blue the back position. The flagsticks will be taller as well. Our yardage markers are being replaced with red, white and blue stakes. The out of bound markers will be white stakes; and more of them.
We are excited about these changes for 2010. Whether you are an avid golfer or one who picks up the sticks on occasion, one thing is certain. We are loyal citizens of the United States of America - why not red, white and blue?
